RIDGID Universal Motors, sold as part of a 535, 300 Compact or 1233 Threading Machine, 300 Power Drive or a Hose Machine or sold separately as a replacement motor for these units, manufactured between April and November 2008. See specific list of affected products shipped to Hanes Supply (All of our customers that received any of the fore mentioned have been notified). Attention: Hanes Supply, Inc.

This is a Product Recall Notice. Our records show that you purchase one or more of the affected products. We recently determined that the setscrews that retain the brush holders in these motors may not be properly tightened. This could allow the brush holder to back out and the brush lead contact lead contact the motor housing. If a machine in this condition is used with an improperly grounded power supply, this could result in an electrical shock or fire hazard which could cause serious injury or death.

All of the listed products produced between April, 2008 and November 2008 may exhibit this issue.

• Affected machines can be identified by looking at the serial plate of the machine (see figures 1 & 2 on link). If the machine serial number ends in 0408, 0508, 0608, 0708, 0808, 0908, 1008 or 1108 it is subject to this recall.
   
• Affected replacement motors have no identifying features. If a replacement motor on this list was purchased between April 2008 and November 2008, it is subject to this recall.
  

Please take immediate steps to determine if you have any of these products in your possession. Do not use these machines and motors. The brush holders need to be inspected and properly reinstalled by a qualified technician.
