Kicking Back with Buckner Companies: Hanes Supply of South Carolina a.k.a. CCISCO, had a luncheon on the Boeing 787 Plant Construction Site.
The images shown are of the construction site for the Charleston, SC, 787 Final Assembly and Delivery facility. This plant will conduct the final assembly for the 787 Dreamliner. The 787 Dreamliner will be more efficient, quieter and have lower emissions than other airplanes while offering passengers greater comfort and the convenience of direct, nonstop flights between more cities around the world. "This new facility will expand our production capability and strengthen the 787 program as we work toward rate, and that reflects our commitment to our customers, our team and our South Carolina community," said Marco Cavazzoni, vice president and general manager of 787 Final Assembly and Delivery, Charleston, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Among other Equipment and Supplies, Hanes Supply has provided all of the major Rigging and Sling Equipment necessary for the ironworkers' completion of the plant's construction, as well as Power and Hand Tools, Safety Equipment and many additional Construction Supplies. Hanes Supply will continue to meet the future needs of the contractors on the Boeing 787 Plant.
After working seven days a week on this Boeing Plant Project, that involved 1.3 million square feet of deck, 16,000 tons of structural steel, 7,000 tons of miscellaneous steel, deck and joist and 13 cranes, Hanes Supply decided it was time to kick-back and host a cookout for the 150 steel workers from Buckner.
Mike said, "While it was a hot and humid day, the guys from Buckner were excited to dig into Bessinger's famous BBQ." The crew was tired but the BBQ seemed to make everyone happy.
