| Wire mesh slings
are widely used in metalworking and in other industries where loads are abrasive, hot, or
will tend to cut web slings. Unlike nylon and wire rope, wire mesh slings resist abrasion
and cutting. Wire mesh grips the load firmly without stretching, easily maintaining
balanced loads. Wire mesh withstands temperatures to 550° F. Wire mesh slings combine alloy steel fittings and galvanized high
tensile steel mesh, making them unique in industry. The mesh is joined to the fitting by
means of drilled holes - a simple technique that experience has proven best. Fittings are
plated for protection and high visibility. They have large openings so that even the
smallest sling will fit most crane hooks.
Heavy duty 10 gage mesh is recommended for general purpose
lifting because it combines strength and abrasion resistance with good flexibility. 12
gage mesh is recommended for medium duty applications.
Outstanding PropertiesSmooth, flat bearing surfaces
Galvanized high carbon steel mesh resisting corrosion and
abrasion
Superflexible mesh conforms to irregular shapes
Grips loads tighter than other metal slings
Provides excellent load balance
Alloy steel terminals, plated for extra corrosion
protection
Other Materials Available
In addition to galvanized high carbon
steel, mesh is also available in stainless steel for corrosive environments. |

This single 4" wide wire mesh sling in a choker hitch provides adequate stability in
handling long loads of sharp-edged steel bars.
