Onyx spiral point tap, general purpose, series: 2101, imperial, UNC, 3/8-16, plug chamfer, 3 flutes, HSS, black steam oxide over nitride, right hand cutting, 3/4 in thread length, 2-15/16 in overall length, materials up to 28RC hardness material application, H3 thread limit, yes through coolant.

Features

Spiral point taps are designed for machine tapping in through holes in a wide variety of materials
The point ejects the chips ahead of the tap, eliminating chip disposal problems and thread damage
Shallower flutes also result in greater tap core strength allowing for higher cutting speeds
Plug style (3 to 5 thread chamfer) is the most common chamfer used for tapping applications in through holes and blind holes with sufficient bottom clearance
CNC reduced neck design enhances chip evacuation and cutting fluid flow to the cutting teeth for reduced friction, heat and galling
Also reduces contact between the tap and the workpiece
Steam oxide over nitride features a hard abrasive resistant nitride base for enhanced tool life in abrasive materials including cast iron
Steam oxide surface treatment reduces friction, loading and galling, helps retain cutting fluids, improves thread quality and extends tool life
