Boat Safety and Fire Extinguisher Requirements
Its boat season! The United States Coast Guard approved, hand-portable fire extinguishers for all boats using flammable fuels with either a B-1 or B-11 classification (flammable fuels, gas, oil and grease) and a marine-type flammable bracket. It is recommended that extinguishers be mounted in a readily accessible position, away from the flammable area, such as a galley or engine department.
